Chamonix is as busy in the summer as it is in the winter, which is quite a rare thing for a mountain resort! The fact that Chamonix is internationally recognised for sight seeing, climbing and mountain biking and as an all round alpine sports centre, brings tourists all year round.

Chamonix is a very pretty and lively town (200 shops, 148 bars) with a hedonistic nightlife and wonderfully diverse café culture. Chamonix offers a huge variety of mountain sports and some magical sight-seeing opportunities suiting all ages and tastes. The resort attracts an eclectic mix of hardy mountaineers, couples and family holiday makers.

Mtn Biking
With over 450kms of bike trails and some of the best Singletrack mountain biking in the alps, Chamonix opens its ski lifts for bikers and walkers during the summer months.

Activities
Chamonix offers a wide range of mountain activities suitable for the active and not-so-active holiday makers with family facilities and some of the best sight seeing in the Alps! The spectacular Mer de Glace, is a must-do train ride through the mountains to the Glacier for lunch. Also recommended is a trip up the Aguille du Midi cable car to the top of the highest view-point in Europe. Active adventurers have an array of wild water pursuits or mountain sports to choose from, with some of the best Mtn Biking in Europe!

Walking
The extensive lift system is open to walkers and will allow you to discover many miles of terrain whilst avoiding any hard climbs, (if you prefer!). The mountains of Mont Blanc offer walkers stunning alpine scenery and some of the best walking in Europe. Guided and Glacier walks are popular, as are the vast choice of gentle and moderate routes clearly marked and noted on our trail maps. Many walkers will choose to meander through pine forest trails leading up to high altitude vantage points. Walking in Chamonix can be as easy or extreme as you like, taking in mountain restaurants for lunch!
